Custom set of ARP rod bolts. These bolts are forged and thread rolled after being heat-treated which provides up to 10-times longer fatigue strength. They are precision CNC-machined to exact specifications. ARP2000 is a proprietary ARP allow, superior to 8470 chrome moly, with 220,000 PSI tensile strength. 12-point head, pro-series design, capable of more than 12,000 lbs clamping force. Rod bolts must be kept well-oiled and not exposed to moisture to ensure proper working condition and life longevity. Fits all Yamaha 1.8L SHO SVHO factory connecting rod.

Cap Screw without Washer – Rod Bolt Installation
1) Make sure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt hole on the connecting rod cap to clear the radius under the head of the bolt.
2) Use ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant to lubricate the threads of the bolt and the under head of the bolts. Then install the bolts and tighten them hand tight.
3) ARP recommends using the STRETCH METHOD when tightening rod bolts. Following the instructions for using a stretch gauge, stretch the bolts to 0.0070 to 0.0075.
4) If you do not have a stretch gauge, torque the bolts to 42 ft-lbs using ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.
5) The connecting rods should always be re-sized after new rod bolts are installed.
6) A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length by more than .001: should be replaced.
